Diane Mandle reviews How To Create With Spirit

My Personal Review

In  How To Create With Spirit : Awakening the Harmony Within,  Eugenia Oganova tackles the questions, life choices, belief systems and challenges of developing higher consciousness in every day life.  Her book is divided into sections that combine narrative with clear explanations that support her claims.

As much as I like this book and agree with many of her comments,  Ms Oganova makes declarations of Truths, that seem to be based in science, but nothing in her book is documented, and there are no references to anything but her own beliefs  presented as reality. There is no credit given to any other authors or works that might have influenced or contributed to her knowledge base.  I find that odd.

That being said, the book is well organized with major chapters broken down into areas of emotion, physicality, spirituality, esoteric, energy, mental, cognitive fields and more. The discussion within each sub-topic is  logical, accessible and free from new age fluff language.  As I read through it, I find myself nodding in agreement and delight as she breaks down the concepts and belief systems that keep people imprisoned in their own realities.

This is a book about empowerment in every sense of the word and presented in a manner that most people can not only relate to, but also embrace.

Back in late 1990ies when I was working as a regional director for the American Cancer Society I could never have imagined that I would be doing the work I am doing today. As I scan my life and past jobs as a chamber of commerce director, a life coach, a human services director and before that an actress, radio producer, world traveler and yes, even a welfare single mom, I see that every single thing I learned from those jobs serves me now. But now, what I do not only supports my life, but is deeply nourishing to my spirit and hopefully serves a higher purpose in society.
“Do what you love”. These are the words my mother whispered in my ear every day. The same words I passed on to my own children. Does it require a certain amount of courage? Yes. Absolutely. Is it worth it? There is no doubt. So how to begin the process of shifting your passion into your career?
  1. Take stock of all the work you have done and notice what you have enjoyed about each one. Then look for connections or overlap. In my case ( I am a Tibetan bowl sound healer and teacher) all my jobs involved some degree of multiculturalism, empowering people, organizing of ideas, events or perspectives. And those are the aspects of each job I loved.
  1. Notice if there is a yearning to learn more about something or seeing someone doing something you would love to do but don’t think you can. Take this as a sign! We so easily dismiss our inner signposts the subtle messages we receive because our belief systems don’t match up. I loved the one on one connection and the spiritual side of energy work but didn’t pay much attention to it until I was desperate to find a better outlet for my talents. I loved doing presentations at work because it used my performance skills. Now I travel internationally doing educational sound healing concerts. Who would have thought!
  1. Get clear that ANY transition has an aspect of fear. Never allow fear to deter you from your hearts desire. When you follow your passion, the universe usually meets you. ( When I packed up my belongings and moved to California I had no idea how things would work out. I sold or gave away almost everything I owned and said goodbye to friends and family. But I did that after having spent 2 years learning the amazing modality I now practice and teach. I knew it would take time to establish clients and was prepared to do whatever I needed to make some money while I met people and started a client base. It took several months and many free introductory sound healing mini concerts and sessions. Now I have a flourishing practice in an effective and compelling modality that keeps me centered as I help others.
  1. “Yes, but” That phrase is a dream assassin. Just stick with “Yes” Did you know that good theater improvisation is based on the ability to say “yes” to every situation? “Yes” keeps the energy moving. So improvise with life in a manner that you can find the ‘yes, and” in situations. Look for what is possible rather than what is not. You would be surprised how fast things move forward by doing this. Simple but not easy. I had to keep reminding myself and noticing the ways I was sabotaging my own efforts. As I have become able to manifest my own dreams, I become better at helping others do the same. I love working with my Tibetan bowls because they help raise consciousness, my own and that of others.
  1. Don’t be afraid to be different. It is great to be the first or the only one doing something. If your passion seems a bit wacky- all the better. Really, how many Tibetan bowl sound healers do you know? I was one of the first. It is easier to distinguish oneself when what you do is unique. If what you want to do is not unique then know and be confident that what you bring to it makes it so. Own that completely. Now just go for it.

Sacred Geometry with Sound Healing

Sacred Geometric patterns reflect the blueprint of all life forms. In my sound healing concerts I project stunning images of sacred geometry and invite you to look at them with a soft gaze. This helps to energize parts of the brain that don't normally get much action. By the time I start to play the Tibetan singing bowls you are in a wonderful expanded meditative zone! It is summer and there are so many good, healthy and beautiful things surrounding us. It is such a good time to choose what brings vitality, what brings peace and joy. Our bodies are our temples. We can nourish them with delicious healthy treats, colors, music and of course relationships that bring joy.  IN the words of one of my favorite poets, David Whyte.. "Anything and anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you."  My CD Being Well: the Journey can help you to define better choices, eliminate old negative beliefs and come back into your divine nature.  If you like Tibetan singing bowls and guided meditations, then give it a try.

This beautiful dragonfly is a symbol of transformation. What does it take to transform areas of our lives? When we surround ourselves with sacred art and sacred sound, these tools help us to expand our consciousness because they emit frequencies that we align with.  You can choose to wear gemstones that will help you in a specific area of your life.. or colors. When you combine these elements with sacred sound the effect is amplified. If you are reading this, you already know that the sound of Tibetan singing bowls used in meditation and in combination with sacred stones, art and color will change things in and around you.  Can I have a witness?

Look at what is above his head. It looks like a bowl, doesn't it. We have so many choices as to where to place our minds. None are wrong, really. But each has an outcome. We can train ourselves to choose the thoughts that produce the most effective outcome: Peace, Well being.  When you meditate with Tibetan singing bowls, your brainwaves will join with the frequency of the healing sound of the bowls.. These bowls have been created with healing frequencies that lift body, mind and spirit to its fullest potential.  Why not choose that?

Did you know that light/color is sound waves made visible... Colors are a  higher frequency of sound and this is why often during Tibetan bowl sound healing and meditation concerts people see colors that are associated with specific sounds.

Sound Energy Healing

We listen and work with Tibetan singing bowls to shift our perception from our seduction into past or future 'stories' and 'fear' to present moment.  Even the simple act of just listening with focused attention to the singing bowls brings us into a kind of sound healing meditation that is about "right now". When we are in present moment and not in the clutches of one story or the other, we can see things in a clear manner and respond rather than react.  To learn more about the sacred sound family of instruments visit www.tibetanbowlschool.com.

Being in the moment----really

OK so I always stop halfway through my Sierra tour at the Sierraville hotsprings. It is a fabulous, funky but very lovely spot on 900 acres of pristine wooded hills and praries. The springs themselves present in several forms... a beautiful outdoor warm pool built into a deck and natural hot tub in a wooden dome overlooking the valley peppered with cows and surrounded by mountains; claw footed bathtubs all over the property with tubes of hot mineral water running into them,; a silence only meditation pool in the woods that is a sandy bottomed stone encircled hole in the ground! It is all great and I stay there in exchange for presenting a short tibetan bowls sound healing workshop and mini-concert. So it is now evening and the event is about to begin only there is no way to dim the lights in the room. I suggest that people (who are all on their backs ready for the concert) cover their eyes with something. The next time I look up, one young woman has taken my message to heart of 'being totally in present moment and available to life as it comes." She has nothing to cover her eyes with and simply removes her dress to do so and remains comfortably sprawled out on the floor totally naked. I can only smile.

Contentment

A few nights ago I went to hear Sogyal Ripoche speak. He is a well known Tibetan Buddhist teacher who wrote the Tibetan Book of Living and Dieing. The lecture was about controlling the mind and was fascinating and simple at the same time. That seems to be true of many Buddhist teachings..He said that to transform the mind we had to understand its true nature.. Well- what the heck is that?? It is a mind free from grasping, endless thoughts, emotions and stories; those things that create Samsara where we are lost in the projections of the mind.

The true nature of the mind, he said, is Nirvana- the mind turned inward; a state of non-distraction. The absence of "I" within actions taken.

In thinking about this I realized that this is exactly the state of mind I speak of to my Tibetan bowl sound healing students when I describe "Presencing". Presencing is the ability to be with a client with no agenda, with full attention towards them. Most of us can relate to the notion of "holding the space", for something. The true nature of the mind then must be like holding the space for oneself. Just being present to what is without attachment, projection, or stories. This state of non distraction can also be described as meditation-- active or passive. Either way it is a good place to be.

Consciousness Transformation

Sound healing with Tibetan bowls is a powerful way to transform ones own and the collective consciousness of the planet. Every time we meditate on our own or participate in a group meditation, we also change the energetic imprint we are creating. I recently came across this great website that offers another means of making a difference on the planet. Please look at the website and sign up to participate on 11/11 at: http://www.newrealitytransmission.com/

New Year Blessing

With the wonderful Blue Moon this month to celebrate the New Year, it is an especially powerful time to offer blessings as well as to energize the highest vision of ourselves. Here is a lovely traditional Tibetan Buddhist Blessing to recite while playing your Sacred Sound Instruments. Remember that the tingshas awaken dormant energies, so are good to play at the start of your meditation, the gantas move energy, so played in a clockwise direction will send your blessing out into the universe, and the Tibetan singing bowls will harmonize or align energy.. so good to play in a sustained manner that helps to integrate the vibration of the words into the every day world.
May I become at all times, both now and forever, a protector of those without protection.
A guide for those who have lost their ways
A ship for those with oceans to cross
a bridge for those with rivers to cross
a sanctuary for those in danger
a lamp for those without light
a place of refuge for those who lack shelter
and a servant to all in need.

- 14th Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso)

On another note I seek new venues to perform my sound healing Tibetan Bowl and Planetary Gong Sacred Sound concert in. I have toured with this concert for over six years and now offer a new performance. The areas I seek are in Arizona, anywhere in California or Nevada side of the Sierra's and in northern California. Space needs to be large enough to hold a minimum of 35 people. Please email me at diane@soundenergyhealing.com and have a look at the video here

Fundraiser for Tibetan Temple

It was an awesome place to do a sound healing concert. A huge home in San Diego with gardens, fountains, enormous fireplaces and expansive rooms. Setting up my Tibetan singing bowls and Chiron gong I had a feeling that the instruments were longing to sing. When Drupon Samten Rinpoche arrived with his assistant and set up Tibetan flags, jewelry and other items to sell, the setting felt complete. I played for an hour and as expected the bowls and gongs sang out like old friends. The best part was how well Rinpoche was able to express what I was doing with the instruments after the concert. He said that the music was an expression of beauty and peace. The gong I play in a textural manner and then expands into a crescendo of sound. Rinpoche said that our egos need to be overcome and the loud sound did just that- quieting the ego and allowing us to just feel ourselves in space/time without anything else going on. It was a lovely and accessible description of what I was doing. After that he offered a meditation and New Year Blessing. A perfect end to a wonderful day.

Kripalu Yoga & Sound

Yikes! I haven't been here in a while. No matter, life gets busy. I'm here now and getting ready to do a Kripalu Yoga class to Tibetan bowls with an extended meditation at the end. I have only spoken to the yoga instructor but we both feel totally comfortable with just doing it. Playing for yoga classes is the most natural thing.. just following the movements as they happen with the sound of the bowls.. changing up the pace, the volume, the textures of sound. For the students, the sound of the singing bowls and gong goes into their consciousness and their limbs making the poses even more meaningful and effortless. It is as though the sound carries them through the movement.. At least, that has been the reports. So if you happen to be in Cardiff by the Sea, CA on November 15 at 5:30 pm, come to EZIA at the Sanctuary, 230 Birmingham Drive. This is our gift to the community so there is no charge, but you do need to register at 760-845-1400

New Theraputic Tibetan Bowl Meditation CD

Finally, I got this done just before leaving on my month long journey to Europe ( in another post) I wanted to make a cd that would help my clients to continue the healing work we did in private sessions as well as for those who cannot get a private. The idea was to create an atmosphere that would put the listner into a deep meditative state and to stregthen specific aspects of themselves. I wanted to make the spoken part of the cd totally positive and inspiring to the spirit and say those words in a context of sacred sound that would take hold in the subconscious. So here it is.

Being Well: The Journey. Guided meditations by Diáne Mandle w/Tibetan Bowls, Gongs & Sacred Sound Instruments. Each 15-20 minute recording within this series is designed to reawaken and strengthen as specific area of consciousness that can help the listener access wholeness.(Opening the Heart, Becoming Whole, Inner Healer ) The instruments are played with patterns of sacred geometry and tones that best support the issue) To order go to www.soundenergyhealing.com/productsforwellbeing.html.
