Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing eBook: Using Affirmations and Visualizations

One of our newest eBooks... how to work with Tibetan bowls, gantas and dorjes in sound healing sessions with Affirmations and Visualizations. Includes 7 sections: Auric Field Activity, French Press Breathing Exercise, Divine Feminine Exercise, Identifying a Sound Exercise, Breathing Down, Deep Listening, and Wholeness.

Excerpt:
Using Affirmations & Visualizations
© By Diane Mandle
"Visualizations are an excellent way to work directly with the subconscious in order to access parts of our self that need either acknowledgement, strengthening and/or releasing. Working with the sacred sound instruments is accessing a cognitive, cellular, emotional and spiritual aspect within each person. Intention setting, affirmations and guided visualizations help to support the work you do with the instruments and create powerful shifts.  They also help to create ownership within clients as they call for some extent of participation.

Any effective affirmation or visualization will guide the client into their own inner journey and expression. To that end practitioners should not put their agenda onto the client, though this is something that happens all to often. Guided meditation leaders sometimes describe every little detail of where they want you to go in the session. To me, this is a mistake because it’s not about our vision of where we want clients go; rather we are setting up a verbal context for them to discover an intimate part of themselves.

To create a good visualization is to use very few words and just enough structure to help the client access their inner world. It is important to practice guiding visualizations aloud so you deliver them seamlessly with a gentle, quiet volume and slow pace. By  memorizing the scripts below, taping them and playing them back to yourself during your meditation, you begin to get an idea of what works and what doesn’t". Diane Mandle, Sound Energy Healing and the Tibetan Bowl School.

Only $3.99 and available on Kindle and Nook.

  Toning and Sound Healing

Sound is a physicalized vibration, and vibrations which are within our material range realign vibratory patterns in matter-based forms. Toning is a fine tuning of the instrument (our energy systems) through sound. This applies to all of our bodies: physical, emotional, mental and the rest. When the sound resonates through our entire energy field, it vibrates our energy bodies to its frequency, cleansing, purifying, uplifting.

There are two types of toning: internal and external.

Internal toning is sounding your own voice to a particular frequency. It is like being your own resonator/tuning fork. Usually a person sounds the note of the internal experience (discomfort, pain, sadness) and then allows that note to evolve and become cleaner and higher – eventually arriving at a harmonious frequency for that person (it has to “sound you” instead of you “sounding it”). Some toning can begin with an already pure vibratory pattern, like a mantra. All true mantras are related to Spirit. They resonate with “Spirit is All That Is”. For example, the famous mantra “AUM” (it is the proper sounding of the “Om”) is the trinity of the Cosmic Root Substance, the Creator, and the Light/Code. When that sound is made, it synchronizes the resonance of one’s energy field and physical body with the Universal Spirit.

External toning is the process of experiencing the sound wave that comes from something/someone else. That harmonious wave resonates through one’s energy field, and it synchronizes to the wave.

An example of this toning can be the sound of Tibetan Bowls. The vibrations of a singing bowl are so pure that they interpenetrate the entire energy field. The resonance is not simply heard with one’s ears, but it is felt through the cells, the tissues/blood/bone in the physical body. The physical body is an anchor for the whole entity that we are here on Earth. When the matter-body experiences change, it is like changing a foundation of a building! – everything above the foundation has to be modified to match that change. Our dis-eases are not created on the physical plane – they are energy imbalances first (conceptual, mental, emotional), and material illnesses last. Thus when the lowest foundational level of our being, the matter-body, is vibrated with harmony by the Tibetan singing bowl, the entire energy system remembers that it is one with Spirit – in other words, the vibratory resonance of the bowl brings us HOME, where no imbalance, dis-ease, or fear is possible. The Tibetan bowls’ sonic pattern facilitates one’s awakening to Spirit.

The Tibetan bowl resonance creates physiological, emotional, mental and spiritual changes. So, why are Tibetan singing bowls so effective? Because the resonance of a Tibetan bowl vibrates at Alpha and Theta brain wave frequency, and a repeat exposure to that sound trains your brain to synchronize easily with that brain wave pattern (so that you can do it with more ease on your own when you choose to relax, to heal, to harmonize). If you are not familiar with brain waves: Beta wave pattern is our “normal” awake state; “Alpha” is the relaxed state (a daydreaming gateway to the subconscious), and “Theta” is the state of awake-yet-deeply-relaxed, activating insight, inspiration, vivid visualizations (a gateway to your Higher Mind and the Soul). The Alpha and Theta waves of the singing bowls create the range of sound that restores harmony in the stressed, dis-eased, and emotionally imbalanced system. When we fully allow the sound of the bowl to penetrate us, we let the Universal consciousness work through us, harmonizing us with Spirit.

Back in late 1990ies when I was working as a regional director for the American Cancer Society I could never have imagined that I would be doing the work I am doing today. As I scan my life and past jobs as a chamber of commerce director, a life coach, a human services director and before that an actress, radio producer, world traveler and yes, even a welfare single mom, I see that every single thing I learned from those jobs serves me now. But now, what I do not only supports my life, but is deeply nourishing to my spirit and hopefully serves a higher purpose in society.
“Do what you love”. These are the words my mother whispered in my ear every day. The same words I passed on to my own children. Does it require a certain amount of courage? Yes. Absolutely. Is it worth it? There is no doubt. So how to begin the process of shifting your passion into your career?
  1. Take stock of all the work you have done and notice what you have enjoyed about each one. Then look for connections or overlap. In my case ( I am a Tibetan bowl sound healer and teacher) all my jobs involved some degree of multiculturalism, empowering people, organizing of ideas, events or perspectives. And those are the aspects of each job I loved.
  1. Notice if there is a yearning to learn more about something or seeing someone doing something you would love to do but don’t think you can. Take this as a sign! We so easily dismiss our inner signposts the subtle messages we receive because our belief systems don’t match up. I loved the one on one connection and the spiritual side of energy work but didn’t pay much attention to it until I was desperate to find a better outlet for my talents. I loved doing presentations at work because it used my performance skills. Now I travel internationally doing educational sound healing concerts. Who would have thought!
  1. Get clear that ANY transition has an aspect of fear. Never allow fear to deter you from your hearts desire. When you follow your passion, the universe usually meets you. ( When I packed up my belongings and moved to California I had no idea how things would work out. I sold or gave away almost everything I owned and said goodbye to friends and family. But I did that after having spent 2 years learning the amazing modality I now practice and teach. I knew it would take time to establish clients and was prepared to do whatever I needed to make some money while I met people and started a client base. It took several months and many free introductory sound healing mini concerts and sessions. Now I have a flourishing practice in an effective and compelling modality that keeps me centered as I help others.
  1. “Yes, but” That phrase is a dream assassin. Just stick with “Yes” Did you know that good theater improvisation is based on the ability to say “yes” to every situation? “Yes” keeps the energy moving. So improvise with life in a manner that you can find the ‘yes, and” in situations. Look for what is possible rather than what is not. You would be surprised how fast things move forward by doing this. Simple but not easy. I had to keep reminding myself and noticing the ways I was sabotaging my own efforts. As I have become able to manifest my own dreams, I become better at helping others do the same. I love working with my Tibetan bowls because they help raise consciousness, my own and that of others.
  1. Don’t be afraid to be different. It is great to be the first or the only one doing something. If your passion seems a bit wacky- all the better. Really, how many Tibetan bowl sound healers do you know? I was one of the first. It is easier to distinguish oneself when what you do is unique. If what you want to do is not unique then know and be confident that what you bring to it makes it so. Own that completely. Now just go for it.

Three Ways to Make Your Sound Healing Practice More Effective

sound energy healing Tibetan bowl school healing
Diane Mandle Singing Tibetan Bowls
Over the past ten years I have observed students and practitioners alike with their Tibetan bowls. Whether you have one bowl or many, there are several things you can do to maximize the effectiveness of sound healing.

1. Pay attention to the Direction you are singing the bowl in. Clockwise will help either release and ground tension/ energy OR expand & strengthen it depending on the INTENTION you bring to the gesture. Counter–clockwise will help to re-awaken the energy and /or nourish a weak area.

2. Use Rhythm and Pace as you play. Slow and spaced out striking of a bowl will create a calming effect. Faster will energize. You can strike a bowl once and let the sound dissipate or several times in succession to create more energy and an enlivening atmosphere. If you have three bowls play with rhythm &pace to create different textures and see how they affect the environment.

3. Consider how when you add volume to the two practices above; that changes the energetic outcome as well. Start slow and very quiet. Try building slow and low to slow and louder. Then practice slow and low to faster and louder. Using these three methods will give you a whole new range of textures to work with as you explore the world of sound healing. My home study course, Ancient Sounds for a New Age, offers more tips and a structured approach to working with the Sacred Sound Instruments.

All Beings have a journey while on this earth. If they do not complete their journey this time, they may come back again and again to fulfill their path. What is your path? I post this on my Sound Energy Healing blog because the Tibetan singing bowls are tools created to help us get in touch with our essence and in that way become clearer as to what our path is.

I really love Buddhism because it is so human. Of course we cannot help everyone.. especially if there is a barb in the relationship. But lo and behold a teaching that allows us to grow in our compassion and in our humanity...  It reminds me of :if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"-- In other words.. do no harm. Learning about Tibetan bowls and sound healing is also learning to be a better human being.

Moving Energy

When we use bowls in sound healing sessions, we can use patterns that represent movement. This beautiful pattern of sacred geometry used in the context of a sound healing session with Tibetan bowls can be effective to either expand the strength of an issue you might be working on or to bring focus to it.. The ganta (bell) especially is useful in moving the energy in specific patterns and in fact, the ganta is all about moving energy.  Want to learn more? Visit our school at: www.tibetanbowlschool.com

Tibetan Singing Bowls

There are so many kinds of Himalayan (Tibetan) singing bowls and a variety of qualities as well. Some sound sweet but the sound have no longevity. Some have great energy but are not harmonious with other bowls. Some are more geared to consciousness transformation and some to physical healing. Some are great sound healing practitioner quality and some are Master quality.. It is hard to know what to get. Every bowl we sell is of the highest quality and comes with an education .
